Emma W Smyth

Hi, my name is Emma Smyth. I am a 23 year old, Scottish contemporary artist. I was born on the 9th of May, 2002 and grew up in the West of Scotland. I have practiced art from a very young age. Once leaving school in 2020, I decided to pursue my artistic abilities at City of Glasgow college the same year. I studied Contemporary Art Practice at HNC and HND level before studying and achieving my BA (HONS) degree in 2024.I am currently working towards my future career as a secondary school teacher in art and design. Within my current practice I have predominantly experiment with paint and manipulation techniques to convey sinister and eerie subject matter. I consider myself to have a mixed media practice as I utilise other mediums. I plan to continue experimenting with a variety of techniques, styles, subject matter, concepts and materials.
